April 1939 an die 8th Maintenance Unit der Royal Air Force, Little Rissington ausgeliefert und wenige Tage sp\u00e4ter an die 18th Elementary Flying Training School (EFTS) nach Fair Oaks \u00fcberstellt. Von dort ging es am 5. September weiter zur 11th EFTS nach Perth (England). Ihr Einsatzgebiet war die Grundschulung von Milit\u00e4rpiloten. Hierbei ereigneten sich drei nennenswerte Unf\u00e4lle:<\/p>\n<div align=\"justify\">\n<table style=\"height: 159px;\" border=\"0\" width=\"827\" cellspacing=\"0\" cellpadding=\"2\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td valign=\"top\" width=\"182\">\u00a0 I. am 5. Oktober 1940<\/td>\n<td valign=\"top\" width=\"507\">Harte Landung.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td valign=\"top\" width=\"186\">III. am 16. Mai 1943<\/td>\n<td valign=\"top\" width=\"506\">Kurz vor dem Start kollidierte die Maschine mit einer anderen Tiger Moth.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/div>\n<p align=\"justify\">Aufgrund des entstandenen Schadens musste das Luftfahrzeug im Juni 1943 zur Reparatur zu Atlantic Coast Airlines Ltd. nach Barnsstaple und bekam u.a. einen neuen Propeller.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Nach erfolgter Reparatur wurde das Luftfahrzeug in folgenden Verb\u00e4nden eingesetzt:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p align=\"justify\">8. Juli 1943 5th HU\u00a0 in Kemble<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p align=\"justify\">27. Sept. 1944\u00a0 7th Elementary Flying Training School in Desford<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p align=\"justify\">1. Mai 1946\u00a0 10th Maintenance Unit in Hullavington<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p align=\"justify\">Am 30. Oktober 1946 wurde sie aus dem Milit\u00e4rdienst entlassen und das <strong>Milit\u00e4rkennteichen N6740<\/strong> gegen die zivile <strong>Registratur Nr. 8669<\/strong> und dem <strong>Kennzeichen G-AISY<\/strong> getauscht und von Merseyside Aero and Sports Co Ltd. \u00fcbernommen. Die Firma verkaufte das Fluzeug am 8. November 1946 an Mister\u00a0 W. S. Shackleton. Mr. Shackleton verkaufte das Luftfahrzeug am 26 Juli 1949 nach Indien, an den ACP Wadia Juhu. April 1950 ging die VT-CZV an den BombayFlying Club. Am 27. Pears \u00fcbernommen und bis 1996 nach und nach bei Cooper Air Service in Standtford originalgetreu restauriert wurden.\u00a0 Dabei erhielt der Flieger wieder sein urspr\u00fcngliches ziviles englisches Kennzeichen <strong>G-AISY<\/strong> zur\u00fcck.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Der Holl\u00e4nder <strong>C<\/strong>hris <strong>Ro<\/strong>ggenveen erstand unsere Tiger Moth 1997 und stationierte sie mit neuem Kennzeichen <strong>PH-CRO<\/strong> in Midden Seeland, nahe Antwerpen.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Wo an Ostern 1998 Claudio Stetter, Herbert Schmidt und Thomas Pl\u00f6dt per Handschlag den Kauf besiegelten. Die Tiger Moth wurde am 10. Mai 1998 in einem zweit\u00e4gigen \u00dcberf\u00fchrungsflug, an ihren neuen Standort, nach Rosenthal Field Pl\u00f6ssen EDQP gebracht.<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-201\" src=\"https:\/\/www.miss-sophie.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/tomherb_180.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"352\" height=\"176\" \/><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Im Beisein von drei weiteren Tiger Moth Crews wurde sie am 15. August 1998 feierlich auf\u00a0 den Namen <em><strong>Miss Sophie<\/strong><\/em> getauft. Nach vielen b\u00fcrokratischen H\u00fcrden erhielt Miss Sophie im April 2000 auch die deutsche Zulassung und das Kennzeichen <em><strong>D-E<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">THC<\/span><\/strong><\/em> nach den Initialen ihrer Besitzer <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>T<\/strong><\/span>homas, <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>H<\/strong><\/span>erbert und <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>C<\/strong><\/span>laudio.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Unsere Miss Sophie wurde bei DeHavilland in Stag Lane als Serial Nummer 82018 gebaut und am 16.
